My Profile

I love to Write

I am a Computer Science Engineer.

From a young age, I fell in love with MATH, and it was because of this love that my parents persisted that I pursue a career in STEM. I did as asked and forged my career in this working in all types of industries from Aeronautics, Computer Sales, Power Distribution and Generation, Human Resources, and finally Media Transmission.

But deep down, I bottled my creative side. Ever since I was a young boy, when literature was introduced to me, I would picture these fantastic characters in unusual settings having awesome adventures. I guess I would have to thank my childhood authors Bruce Coville and Louis Sachar, for inspiring me to open my mind to literature.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." - Frank Herbert, Dune

As my mind expanded, so did my tastes. As a teenager, I dug into classics like Treasure Island, The Three Musketeers, and Robinson Crusoe.  International thrillers caught my eye as well when I jumped into Frederick Forsyth’s worlds. His novels The Day of the Jackal, The Odessa File,The Fourth Protocol, and The Devil’s Alternative just blew my criteria on what spy novels should be. It is also here where I discover the worlds of Jack Ryan by Tom Clancy.

It was until late in my teens that I discovered the magical fantasy genre. The worlds of Tolkien and C.S. Lewis granted me access to brand new worlds utterly unrestricted by the sharp boundaries of reality. It was through them that I discovered other worlds from other cultures strange to my own but no less magical. The tales from Arabian Nights dazzled my mind and the dark pages of Anne Rice rattled my senses. With each discovery came a new sense of wonder and growing passion to build my own worlds

As I reached my adult life and became a parent, I realized that dreams are never to old to come true. I began to work on my first novel and as I did, fresh ideas jumped at me that needed to be put into pen and paper. I wrote this book as a gift for my two-year-old daughter. I hope that it teaches her that she's not a damsel in distress but a heroine who is the protagonist of her own story destined to walk in the path to do good.

Before writing my first novel, I wrote stage plays that were presented to a two thousand member catholic community. The scripts were a stage adaptation of The Passion of The Christ, followed by a smaller production concerning the life of King David from the book of Samuel. I also dabbled a bit in screenwriting for two short martial art films distributed through youtube .Currently, I am in the process of writing my second novel, which I hope to finish by the end of 2020.
